Bring the Smell of the Disney Resorts to Your Home

By Keith Mahne

Smells can transport us back to powerful and emotional memories from the past more effectively than any of the 5 senses. Any die-hard Disney fan knows that Disney “smells” play a huge role in our nostalgic love of the Parks. The smell of Pirates of the Caribbean, the one of burning embers in Spaceship Earth, the smell as you walk past the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, USA, and one of my favorites, the smell of a Walt Disney World resort lobby. You know the one I’m talking about! It’s one of the first things that greet you as you enter your favorite resort (except if you are staying at the Grand Floridian in which case Richard would be the first thing) and your brain’s endorphins go into overdrive because you realize your in the vacation kingdom of the world. Well, what if I told you that you could bring this scent into your own home. Yep, that’s right! Continue after the page break and let’s discuss bringing the smell of a Disney Resort to your humble abode…

The Contemporary Resort lobby

If the beauty and detail of a Disney resort isn’t enough, the resorts have a unique and distinct scent that from the moment you walk inside and it hits your nose you become instantly happier, as if a puff of pixie dust just smacked you upside the head. Certain smells can be extremely powerful mood enhancers and the clever folks at Disney know exactly which ones will have you feeling like you are “home.” Though I adore all of the Disney Resort lobby scents, the ones that have had the most profound impact on me—triggering serious feelings of nostalgia and joy—are The Grand Floridian, The Contemporary and, of course, The Polynesian.

The name of the scent that fills the lobbies is called “Green clover and aloe” and the good folks at The Columbia Fragrance Co. have recreated it to perfection! I can tell you for certain as my own personal candle is burning right beside me and boy are my endorphins kicking! If I close my eyes, I’d swear I was inside one of those beautiful lobbies now.

The Columbia Fragrance Co. calls this fragrance “Walt’s Wonderful World – Green Clover and Aloe” and it comes in a variety of ways. A 12oz or 8oz candle, oil, body spray, room spray, tea lights and breakaway melts. Here is their description:

Named for the magical clean scent of a Disney resort, Walt’s Wonderful World is the fresh, unisex scent of Green Clover and Aloe.

One of our best selling fragrances for 2013, 2014, and trending to the top for 2015, our customers flock to this scent to remind them of the magic of their family vacation.

Here’s what satisfied customers say about this fragrance:

“They smell exactly like a Disney Resort!!! “
